Frequently asked

Is Hisab Kitab really free?

Yes — the current version is free for personal and small-group use. If we ever add paid features, existing accounts will keep everything that was free the day they signed up.

Do you support currencies other than INR?

Not yet. INR-only keeps the app simple and the maths exact. Multi-currency is on the roadmap.

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, personal expenses, income, savings, screenshots, and push subscriptions. Group expenses you created are anonymised so remaining members' balances stay accurate.

Can I use it offline?

Hisab Kitab is a PWA — you can install it on your home screen and it caches the shell for offline use. Expenses added while offline are queued and posted when you're back online.

Do you sell my data or show ads?

No, and no. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of who touches your data (short answer: only Supabase, Vercel, Resend, and Google if you sign in with Google).

How does splitting work?

Create a group, add members, log a shared expense, and pick a split — equal, by exact amount, by percentage, by shares, or a custom mix. Balances update instantly. Use Settle up to record payments between members and Simplify debts to minimise the number of transfers.

I invited someone but they got an 'expired' error

Personal invites are single-use and expire in 14 days. If a friend needs a new link, open the group, tap their pending invite, and 'Send again'. Shareable invite links (with no email attached) can be reused as long as they haven't expired.
